A Chilly Day with Bandit and a Quick Reset Method

Hi All,
It has been a good month since my last post. My husband and I recently bought a colonial home, (read 1726, Yes, no joke!) and every spare moment of time I have been painting. But, today, I am taking a pause in home improvement. It is a raw, chilly day in NH so I have the fire going and am listening to some music and my dog is out cold on the sofa snoring lightly. In other words, I am feeling blessed and grateful.
Over the last couple of months I have welcomed the distraction of home renovation, not only because the worst months of winter seemed to go by quickly, but also the noise of what is happening in our country was able to be paused for myself. Now, don’t get me wrong, I did check in on the news daily, (but not all day). I wrote and called my representatives more than I have in my entire life as a US citizen, and gave to organizations who are on the ground helping those directly affected by the deluge of Executive Orders. I wasn’t surprised when I realized that listening to True Crime Podcasts, as I painted, was more desirable than the news. I’m not sure what that says about me, and please don’t tell me.
Periodically, I was so incredibly tense and on edge from painting and the news that I had a hard time resetting. But, then I saw a video that demonstrated Therapeutic Tremoring. If you are unfamiliar with it, the method is to plant your feet, breathe in and out, while you start bouncing your knees, then proceed to start shaking out your arms and legs and just shaking the negativity from your body, after about a minute, stand still and breathe. It is a quick way to reset your nervous system. If you would like to see a video please check out Naushad Godrej’s, Youtube Resilient Being’s video here, Qigong Shaking for Stress Relief
This method is a great way to “shake it off”. And also, Healing Energy Modalities are of course the way to go as well. If you are local, book a Reiki session with me, if not someone local to you. There is also Acupuncture, Craniosacral therapy, breathwork, meditation and yoga as well as others I haven’t listed.
Whichever one you go to, know you it’s a great step to centering and grounding yourself.
With Love and Light,
Jan
