Breathing

Hi Everyone,
I’m sorry I haven't written in a while. So, what is on my mind right now…Breathing!
I have been recovering from a bout of pneumonia, so breathing is and was on my mind. When I am well, I love to exercise, walk my dog and admittedly I have a hard time sitting still until the end of the day. But, over the last 3 weeks, I haven’t been able to do the things I enjoy or need to do. Breathing easily was not happening. Prior to this illness, I think I was taking my breath for granted. To some degree I think all of us tend to do that. We make the assumption that our bodies will just keep going, we will breathe, and our body will continue to do all the things required to keep us here.
I can only speak for myself, but usually, without meaning to, I forget to be grateful for this body, this vessel if you will, that holds my soul and spirit. So, when I become ill or in some way limited, I suddenly realize how blessed I am to be here, to spend time with friends and family and to be able to care for the people I love. I like to think I do a good job of taking care of myself, but sometimes I forget to just stop and say thank you to this body. I am grateful for others in my life and try to tell them often. But, I also need to be grateful for myself and you need to be grateful for you!
Currently, I am pretty consistent in writing in my gratitude journal, so I am challenging myself everyday for the next month or so to add the words, “Thank you for my body and health”. Even when I am still not 100%, I will say, write and think “thank you for my body and health.”
The concept of manifesting is:
“What you focus on grows. What you think about expands. And, what you dwell upon determines your destiny.” — Robin S. Sharma
So, I will take this time to focus on that, as well as a few other things. I know it can’t hurt and I have historic evidence from my own life that the above quote is true. Do you? Have you ever tried to say, write and think about a goal or what you would like to manifest? Did it work? If you haven’t tried, I invite you to give it a go.
This is not a new concept. In 2006, it was everywhere. Remember, The Secret by Rhonda Bryne. There is a reason it sold over 35 million copies. The thing is, this concept has been around long before Rhonda Bryne brought it to such a broad audience. Here's the quote from an article (Marwan 2025)- “References to manifestation-like principles can be found as early as the Rigveda, a 3,500-year-old Sanskrit text containing hymns that suggest thoughts and actions influence personal destiny.” Think about that 3,500 years ago this idea was being used!
But, I digress. Breathing, Being, and Thriving, that is on my mind, and how to not only treat my body physically right with food, exercise, and rest, but to also ‘think it right’ by consciously giving it my attention and intention.
I wish you all health and I hope you take me up on the challenge to manifest a goal or desire. Let me know how it goes.
With Love and Light,
Jan
P.S. Stay tuned for some news in August, new studio space and with that some special offers.
