Happy New Year!

Writer's picture: Jan WareJan Ware

Reflections of the year on NYE. What does that actually mean to me? What I like to do is take some time and think about the year in full which means thinking about the wonderful, the good, the not so good and sometimes the pretty bad.

What was Wonderful? The tippy top is the wedding of my son and our new daughter in law. It was not only a beautiful and thoughtful event, which was wonderful (read a few blogs ago to get the scoop), but more importantly, it was the feeling of a celebration of love with friends and family.

Another Wonderful thing that happened occured in June, when my 4 siblings and I gathered in Acadia National Park, arguably one of the most beautiful places in our country, and we spread my sister, Carol's ashes along with her dog, Cady’s  (Acadia). Some people when they heard that said, “I’m so sorry”, but it was actually quite beautiful. Carol was a selfless individual, (many people say that after someone has passed, but in this case it is 100% true), and Acadia was her favorite place in the world. The fact that we were able to do this for her and to be together felt right. She approved, of that I am sure.

In addition, after searching for the last 3 years, with weekends filled with open houses, my husband and I bought a house this month. It is big enough for family to come and stay and friends to gather. When you enter, the energy feels right. We are experiencing a lot of gratitude and joy.

I am not going to burden you with the less than wonderful, because who needs to hear that or give it energy. But, so that I’m not being cagey or leaving you wondering, there was nothing horrible, just some illness, that I recovered from, but that has set me back a bit. As well as two moves, which are always stressful even when you are ending up in a great place. And then some disappointing political outcomes...bet you can guess:)

Next, because I keep a gratitude journal, it’s a good practice for me to look back at that and read all the good stuff,(I also do this throughout the year when I am having a tough time and feeling down, it helps me to refocus my thoughts in a better direction).

Finally, I do what many people do or most likely something you have heard about. I make a vision board. But, before doing so, I look back at my latest board and see what has come to be and what is still in the works. For example, I had some features in a house that I had included on last year’s board, and when I looked at it, realized 4 out of 6 are present or we are currently incorporating into the house, (not bad:)).

When I start the new board, I focus on different aspects of my life: Health, Relationships (family and friends), Business/Finances, Travel, and Dreams. It isn’t too big, it just needs to have pictures and a few bold words, so that with a quick glance I quickly remind myself of what I would like to manifest. There you have it.

I want to wish you all a healthy, joyful, prosperous 2025 filled with love and beautiful moments.

What do you do to end the year and bring in the new one? Any traditions or practices? I’d love to hear.

Sending love and light your way,

Jan
